5 Steps To Consider For Corporate Logo Design.

The process of designing a corporate logo design is the most challenging and through this process creative efforts are undertaken by the designers, though this process involves creativity yet there are certain rules which are to be followed during the process.

Step 1- The Client Brief
The brief is the most vital factor of all the steps in the process. Everything depends on the brief; if the brief is not clear then subsequent steps would lead to a design which is not relevant to the business. The brief could be delivered by a simple conversation with the designers or by a detailed form filled to completion. These usually range from simpler requirements such as company name, slogan etc. to demographic information regarding the nature of the business and its target market. Brief should provide all the relevant inputs which is required by the designers during the design process.

Step 2- Research & Brainstorming
The design team starts with research and it should be limited to the logo design style of similar businesses and focus on the target customer, the area of service, type of service etc. It includes focus groups that provide feedback on various design trends and tastes.
After gathering all the necessary data, brainstorming should be held to clear all the concepts to form the basis of corporate logo design.

Step 3- Sketches
In the next step the artists start the sketch work based on the research material and concepts. At first, they start with rough sketch and then it should be discussed with the supervisors and refined till a few designs are finalized.

Step 4- Artwork
This is when the sketches are turned into a full color logo options. Traditionally these designs were made on paper using various painting tools but nowadays, this artwork can be done with the help of computers since it includes various software used by the artists to produce logo artwork. After completion of the artwork, the options are presented to the clients for approval.

Step 5- Refinement & Finalization
At this stage the final logo is approved by the client. The client then delivers the final logo in different formats to support different media. But there are not certain refinements requested before a final decision is taken.

In order to make a logo few minutes or weeks might be taken; it depends on the level of research and creative input required. A designer must be proud of the fact that his/her design would be used by the client business in the forthcoming years.
